"Tradition, innovation and passion."
- Region
- Puglia — Manduria, near Trani
- Current owner
- Corrado Capece Minutolo
Trani is an idyllic fishing town in the north of Puglia, also known as "the Pearl of Puglia". The same could be said of the Villa Schinosa winery, which lies close to Trani — barely 3 km from the sea.
Villa Schinosa is one of those authentic, generation-after-generation wineries. Don Ferdinando Capece Minutolo dei Duchi di San Valentino, the father of Corrado, the current owner, was a household name in the Puglian wine world. As a pioneer he planted the Fiano grape in Puglia, which you now find in almost all the region's wineries. In 1960 he set the modernisation of his wine business in motion, always honouring tradition.
In 2010 Corrado took over the business and professionalised it further. Villa Schinosa works indigenous grape varieties in a successful combination with more international varieties — always building on inherited knowledge, and always following its own course.
Always building on inherited knowledge and always following its own course, Villa Schinosa has joined the "Federazione dei Vignaioli Indipendenti" (Federation of Independent Winegrowers).
"Always building on inherited knowledge, and always following its own course."— Villa Schinosa, on its own DNA
