"Three hundred years of land, three generations of wine."

Barely four kilometres from the Adriatic Sea, between the municipalities of Fermo and Lapedona, lie the gently rolling hills of the Fermano — home to Madonnabruna. The name is no invention: at the entrance of the estate stands a small votive chapel dedicated to the Madonna di Loreto, venerated by the local community for generations.
The story begins in 1967, when entrepreneur Ferruccio Petracci buys the first land on these hills. He is a pioneer: the first in the region to plant vines here professionally. His dream is big — to one day build his own cellar and make his own wine. That dream never comes true in his lifetime: in 1978 Ferruccio is killed in a car accident.
His son Paolo, then still a student of agricultural science, unexpectedly takes over the helm. For years he devotes himself to expanding the vineyards and selling the grapes — until, around the turn of the century, he finally fulfils his father’s dream: building a cellar of his own. In 2002 the very first Montepulciano harvest is vinified there.
Today it is the third generation that helps shape the business: Paolo's son Carlo, a graduate oenologist from Milan, now stands alongside his father in the cellar. It was he who initiated the switch to organic farming — a new chapter in a story that has been intertwined with this family and this land for more than 300 years.
