"Great wines begin in the vineyard."
- Region
- Puglia — Daunia
- Current owner
- Raffaele Di Tuccio
In the Di Tuccio family, love of the land runs through their veins. It was in the early 1990s that Raffaele, together with his wife Addolorata, left their native region of Basilicata to start a new life in Puglia.
Near Cerignola, a town in the northern Puglian province of Foggia, they bought 40 hectares of land and founded an organic farm that would grow wine and vegetables without the use of synthetic products or genetically modified organisms.
For the Di Tuccio family, living organically is a philosophy. The guarantee of a product that reaches the table truly authentic and protects the environment fuels the passion of Luigi, Raffaele's son. Luigi's main aim is to reconcile the idea of organic farming with the production of real food. Sustainable food that needs no chemical products, that is seasonal and locally produced, is one of the company's most important values.
From childhood Luigi learned to understand the needs of the land. He shares this talent with his wife Valentina, who follows the business development of the company alongside him and who will pass it on to their children.
The vineyards and fields stretch from the interior to the sea, a mix of landscapes with plenty of sun and wind that offer a terroir unique in the world. The winery is housed in the old masseria Contessa Staffa, an 18th-century noble building that Raffaele took over 30 years ago when it was still little more than a ruin. Here the company produces organic wine and preserves."My father Raffaele was a visionary."— Luigi Di Tuccio, Antica Enotria
